After an adult lifetime of almost exclusively listening to albums and EPs I’ve recently been getting more into listening to full sets on Soundcloud, and I’m (selfishly) looking for more high quality shit I can play at home. I know we have the yearly electronic music threads but this one doesn’t have to be limited to recent sets only.
Gonna start with this one by aya. I saw her around the same time last year in London as this Boiler Room set so the setlist is similar; it absolutely blew my mind so I was delighted to find this. Straddles basically every genre of dance music and every emotion I would want to experience on a dancefloor, ridiculously high energy and a wonderful blend of, for want of a better phrase, high and low dance culture. Bit too much mic activity but you gotta take the rough with the smooth. The last 15-20 minutes were life-changing irl

Really enjoyed the recent EP Multiplex by Atrice so checked out a set online & really enjoyed this - got that vibe that I’m gonna call ASMR-chno… catchy I know but maybe there’s a better name out there already? Also has a bit of that kinda psychedelic quality that’s like catnip to me irl
I’ve posted this one in other threads, but it bears a repeat as it’s one of the best DJ sets I’ve ever witnessed:
You can’t go wrong with a Bored Lord mix really. The one from Field Maneuvers that went up a couple of months back is ace too: Stream RA Live - Bored Lord - Field Maneuvers, UK by Resident Advisor | Listen online for free on SoundCloud

Another repost, but I will never not push KAVARI at every opportunity I get. This one does exactly what it says on the tin, impeccably:

Love Kavari on record, went to see her once but it was like a half hour set or something, sad
Lyserge I think you would love that Aya set I posted

Got it on right now
I saw her in Bristol around that time too, so hoping this’ll be the next-best thing to reliving that one.

At some point someone should do an ethnographic study on why trans women make the best DJs

Turning this down on my headphones in the office so as not to scare the locals

Well, since I was asked…
Been going through old events on RA I really enjoyed & finding DJs I loved at the time. Listening to this set by Zohar rn and loving it, high energy bass set, breakbeats, trippy but super fun
This session by Bake is really great, v proggy in parts and sits at the intersection of techno/break/bass that I love.
Gonna make this thread a success if it kills me
Didn’t get all the way through this mix while running the other night but it was pretty great for about 50 mins.
Will check out that bake mix above. I do like his mixes.
