Somehow guessing you have something with latin america
I’d recommend two great argentinian movies with Ricardo Darín (among many others) :

  • The Secret in Their Eyes (oscar winner)
  • Nine Queens

Besides, any movie by Jacques Audiard (the guy who made A prophet) is worth watching, he’s the closest thing to a genius director we have here in France

(I’d also add Michel Hazanavicius who directed ‘The Artist’ and an absolutely cult movie that never went out for legal reasons called “La classe américaine” cause it’s exclusively made out of old movies from Warner Bros)

Is Darin the guy from Carancho?

Yes
Haven’t seen it though, is it good?

I loved it

For mindless action fun or if you just love doves, you can’t go wrong with any John Woo/Chow Yun Fat film. Hard Boiled probably the best of them

Has anyone said Downfall yet?

Downfall, what a great film. Certain parts of it stick in your mind forever really

Which suits you because you hate all films?

2 of the 3 films I like have subtitles
