i think the council should ask for the money back from the PR firm they hired to be honest. we’re seeing them “trialling” scapegoats to see how they play. the fire brigade was always going to be a tough sell to the public but i guess that’s why they got them out of the way early and had someone from a normally respectable outlet propagandize for them. hope the cocktail lunches help him sleep. i imagine the council will gradually sink lower and lower into the gutter as this grinds on. even more bizarre they’re going to all this effort to smear LFB, the survivors and unsympathetic journos when there’s literally no chance this inquiry will result in anyone being held responsible anyway.
i suppose that’s the beauty of this kind of hit piece, like the seed has been planted so even if it gets debunked and dunked on constantly, leading to them removing it, there are thousands of sneering tossers who’ll digest and parrot what they know to be lies to people who arent following the story closely.
