It’s a rubber plant, isn’t it, really?

At the moment I’ve got:
Banana plant
Coffee plants
Spider plant
Small succulent plant
Chilli plants
Pot of basil
Pot of parsley
Two leafy plants from Tesco

I’ve been growing the chilli for a few months now. Started looking a bit sickly and having problems with compost mould lately. The two Tesco plants have also started turning a bit brown on the leaves. Not sure if this is due to over watering or under watering

Do you grow your hops in a greenhouse ? not something I’ve ever thought of doing before but sounds fun…

Got an allotment on the go - currently drowning in potatoes, but fresh beetroot, carrots and broccoli are all delicious.

Had a load of raspberries too, but I’m very jealous of other people’s strawberries

As mentioned before, the wood seems off and the flower buds (or what i assume they are) isn’t right for rubber plant, so I don’t think so. soz

No

I think @dans is right

Definitely a magnolia

no idea what kind though

Buds

Ah, that close up makes all the difference. I couldn’t see the buds and the texture of the leaves looks totally different.

Might be something for the DiS plant massive here

What is that top plant? It looks great.

Would like to try and grow one in the pot I just got

Em… I remember you posting a photo of some plants and they seemed really big! Like that the gollums ear one in particular looks like a tree!.. you said that you’d got them cheap, they were half dead and this was after a year or so. I’m thinking I should look at that diagram instructions thing you wrote up/drew as this might be in it but I was wondering do you use baby bio or something or do you just have magical green fingers?

Also have you grown cacti/succulents from seed before? If so how did it go?

It’s a chinese money plant apparently!

Nope, just out in the garden. Needs to be in a spot with plenty of sun, and go for one of the British varieties. I got 2 challenger root stems, one failed, but the other is now taking over the garden. Can order them online, best to plant in January /February

Great thanks. Been looking for something to have on my desk.

This is the plant my Auntie gave me at christmas. The original was MASSIVE but I managed to make it go mouldy within a month because I’m an idiot so this is from some of the cuttings from that! It’s finally starting to look good! I don’t know how my Auntie does it, she seems to grow plants at a fierce rate, this has taken me aaagges.

ALSO, has anyone ever bought any plants from online? Could anyone recommend a site?

This thread reminds me that I bought one of these planters as a stocking filler for my mrs but it’s been gathering dust since xmas.

Whats a good plant for it?

surely it would be better to go to a nursery or garden centre so you can see the plants you want to buy first hand ?

Of course it would but I don’t drive so I was just looking at other potential options out of curiosity.

Sometimes I dose them up with some Cactus Focus liquid, but mostly I just leave them alone in the sun. (Also helps I actually live somewhere sunny- ie SE England).
