A beautiful, haunting song this one - not necessarily my pick of GBV styles, but perfectly done. A real highlight of Do The Collapse.

No. 77 - Rally Boys
Looks like a token Zeppelin Over China track, but Pollard can always dig out something catchy and affecting (keep wanting to say anthemic but I normally find that offputting). Bafflingly limitless reserves. This one is distinguished by a cool but unobtrusive string arrangement (thanks to Gillard apparently) and some flashes of slick lead guitar.

Immaculate opener to Isolation Drills, jangly and melodic - the only note I have on my rough list is ātoo low?ā, and maybe it is.

No. 75 - Fictional Environment Dream
How did they manage to put a song this good out in 2024? Some slight shakiness in Pollardās voice here and there only enhances the mystery, but the shakiness in the harmonies tips it over from a highlight of the album to late-era classic; a tune that feels like it should already have existed.
