£6.50 for 250g!?! I could build an extension in halloumi for that much!

I think about halloumi daily
I love halloumi so much

Still do not trust anyone who eats it uncooked

Absolute psychopaths.

If any falls off when I’m chopping it up I can 100% guarantee that it’s getting chucked straight into my gob.

I always struggle to think of anything which isn’t round being a burger, so i think you actually made halloumi coasters…

Squeaky cheese! Love it. Some close friends of ours are from Cyprus and the catering at any of their family events is incredible, mainly because there is always so much halloumi.

Love it, probably have it on average once a week.
Had a very tasty halloumi and grilled aubergine panini yesterday.

He’s correct though - I buy mine from a Greek deli in Clerkenwell

Even a stopped clock etc etc

Unfortunately there’s a distinct lack of Greek delis in the South Hams.

I would eat halloumi any where, any time.
I’ve developed a strange self-analysis tool to determine how bad the situation is if I’m feeling queasy/nauseous: if I don’t want to eat halloumi, then things must be serious.

Did someone say panino?

Wasn’t from an Italian deli, so the Anglicised naming is correct

im with you…but also just learnt this from the link Markee posted…

Anthony explains that he grew up eating it as an uncooked table cheese, which is how it is usually eaten in Cyprus. Family food parcels from Cyprus sent over during his childhood contained fresh halloumi, which he remembers eating. “You slice it, eat it with watermelon and tomato and cucumber for breakfast. The most traditional way I grew up eating it was on sesame bread, village bread. Butter the bread, slices of raw halloumi on top, maybe a slice of tomato if you’re feeling fancy. Simple but the flavour is just really good.”

But equally, who is this Anthony and why should i trust him over my mouth!!?

well this has put me off my lunch. Disgusting.
