Has anyone been to Vilnius?

Cheers, have stuck the Atomic Bunker on the list! Already had the prison in my sights - supposedly they screen football games in the courtyard so hopefully i’ll catch a world cup game there if it’s open late into the evening.

Seems like there’s lot of picturesque countryside outside of the city, so i’m just doing a bit of reading up on buses etc.

Just walking around the town, checking out the various monuments and churches is a day.

We did 3 days in Riga and 1 and a half in Vilnius so didn’t do much in terms of outlying stuff though.

Riga is a 4 hour train journey.

Enjoyed our stay in Vilnius. Have to say ion the balance of things it’s probably one of the sweetest smelling capital cities i’ve been to - so many flowers, fresh breeze, very clean and green and nice.

Probably only need 3 days there max - we were there 4.5 days and had pretty much run out of things to do by the final day - but i’d fuly recommend to anyone planning a trip there to get out of the city for a bit. The trains and buses were very easy to use and cheap. Particularly enjoyed Trakai, went there on a really warm evening and it’s very scenic.

Thanks to those who mentioned checking out the Georgian restaurants! Loved them - espeically Khachapuri!
