Of course

I know this was a long, long time ago, but this is absolutely classic Hogan. Almost outdoes that Hope and Glory Festival chap going on and on about his pint of milk when explaining why his festival went wrong.

Didn’t know where else to put this - first ATP was 20 years ago today.

In short, this is a festival like no other. Where else can you run into the man who sold you your stereo who confides that he reckons it’s now safe to grow a beard, because there are so many on display? Or see everybody sporting a T-shirt with some kind of slogan on it, usually representing some kind of blue-collar occupation or pastime, yet never see the same one worn by different people? No fights, no injuries - remarkable. It’s a pity the music is so awful.

“it’s a pity the music is so awful” as a sign off has done me a bit

It was supposed to be the previous September I think, they only brought in the curator concept for the reschedule, guess they thought the bowlie format worked

I was there. (Forgot that even back then these were rescheduled dates).

Played table tennis while Sonic Youth soundchecked a load of bangers. Came back for the actual set and it appeared to be an hour and a half of manta-filled jazz oompah.

Gave Aphex Twin 20p so he could have a go on the boxing game in the arcade.

It was completely brilliant.
