Think the closest I’ve got is two or three times where I’ve attended recordings that have been over-subscribed and sacked it off cos of the queue and/or likelihood of getting in.

Went to a recording of one of the episodes for Vic & Bobs big night out. Bob asked my son if he’d ‘done it yet’ when the warm up fella pointed him out.

Pub Quiz - A welsh comedy quiz thing hosted by John Sparkes that some mates were on.

A episode of Scrum V with other parents involved in running mini and juniors section of the rugby club.

Sounds tedious to me, my brother in law at the BBC keeps offering to hook me up with tickets and I don’t think he believes me when I tell him it doesn’t appeal to me at all.

Would’ve killed to be in the audience for Robot Wars though. Absolutely furious I never looked into how to get on.

I went and watched two episodes of Kilroy being recorded back in 1997, and was in the audience for one of them. Unfortunately the topic was ‘Men falsely accused of rape’ so that wasn’t embarrassing at all.

There was a scandal at the BBC where someone had filed the wrong insurance paperwork and audience members for years hadn’t been properly insured. So while that was being sorted out, every show with an audience had to be made up of BBC staff. So I got to see Paul O’Grady, Wossy, Jools Holland. The best was the Culture Show though, I took a day off to go be one of the people in the bar while Jarvis Cocker played. You could bring friends to that one so I brought a pal who adored him and she made herself say something to him as he walked past - and he came and sat with us for a chat!!! Well, they chatted while I sat looking like Troy in Community when he meets Levar Burton

My parents’ Christian neighbour was once on Songs Of Praise, a full close-up shot while belting out a hymn, which inspired the biggest Scooby-Doo double take. Stuff of legend in our family T.V. viewing history.

Been to see Taskmaster recorded a few times which has been a delight without fail; there’s so much good stuff left on the cutting room floor because the jokes get too spicy for broadcast and Greg, Alex and the guests always seem to have a genuinely great camaraderie. Plus I can always tell which episodes I was there for because my flatmate’s insane foghorn laughter gets picked up by the mics.

Worst part about it is generally having to wait in a tent for a couple of hours prior to filming (got to get there early if you want in).

went to see ninja warrior uk being filmed, that was good fun. got a bit beered up and rowdy, yelling all the stuff they tell you to yell and scaring the kids in front of us. mint

Just Deal Or No Deal. A woman won £6000, really boring episode. My sister picked the phone in prize box at the end.
When I went on a 6th form trip to LA we were meant to go and watch Everybody Loves Raymond be filmed but it was overbooked when we got there so we went to Venice Beach instead.

This just reminded me, I also saw Catchphrase be filmed because my atd was a contestant and we had to wait for over 3 hours because the celebrity version really overran or something. It was in winter so really cold, and there were barely any seats for the little old dears who’d come to be in the audience. I felt so bad!

My mate went out in the first round :joy: but she kept in touch with the girl who went on to win and she gave my mate and the third contestant a grand each. How nice is that?!

Saw Pointless being filmed at the old BBC studios at White City, quite enjoyed going there for nostalgia reasons.

Also been to see University challenge filmed in Manchester, that was fun. Nothing interesting to report from either, unless Jeremy Paxman wearing brown cords underneath his desk counts as interesting

Have I Got News For You. Ended up sitting behind the tv cameraman blocking our view. So watched the entire recording live on the camera monitor.

When I was at the Universal Studios tour in LA, Jay Leno was filming skits for his late show. A tv assistant approached me with release papers asking if I wanted to do a scene with him. I said no, I only work with John Stewart or Dave Letterman.

Only once years ago. But it was knowing me, knowing you with Alan Partridge so I got a bit of telly history. It was the last episode where the guy gets shot. It was surprising filmed pretty much all in one go with no stopping and just a few minutes extra stuff that got cut. But with it being the last episode they had to re film a few scenes from previous episodes so got some bonus bits like ‘cheeky monkey’.
