Always seems impossible. Do you have a second pair of arms to hold a mirror up behind you (whilst standing in front of another mirror)?
I pay £11 at the barbers. They’re very quick. Recently Phil Collins was playing on the radio as I sat down, and as I was leaving, after having paid, he was still going and all the way home I questioned the wisdom of a haircut that is quicker than a Phil Collins song.
What I would really like is for someone to tell me what cut would make the most of my big, balding head, rather than me tell them a style which I suspect doesn’t suit me. But even the more expensive salons don’t seem to do that.
Last time I went the barbers they had a parrot flying about above my head. Great stuff.
I literally grab the bits then cut them…check in a mirror every now and again…been doing it for years so all fine
Never paid more than £12, even when I had hair. Currently it’s £8.
I went to an expensive place in the summer and I didn’t like the vibe. It was too masculine and bantery. The place had an edge. They called me Jacob Elordi but then they didn’t charge me cause someone didn’t turn up. Haircut was fine.
My regular hair cut every 8 weeks costs about £100.
Yeah some places seem a bit “whiskey and beards”. That kinda thing. Safety razors.
Never paid for a haircut. My Mum was a hairdresser and like having any sort of profession in the family you rinse it for all its worth
And then blow dry
When I lived in Reading, I lived round the corner from more of salon rather than barber type place, so went there think it was like £30 odd quid. Not that much more but still like double I’ve paid before or since.
Wasn’t much better, but got it washed and that and cup of coffee
For those with skinhead/super-short.
- I cut my own
- Friend/lover/family member cuts it
- I pay for a professional to cut it
Is that your name?
At uni I went to a barbers on Oxford Road next to that Johnny Roadhouse music place and came out nearly bald. The barber had a weird method where instead of putting a guard on the trimmer he’d instead put a big guard on your head
Came out feeling like John Robb. And the lad before me looked exactly the same, so I think he gave everyone the same cut.
Don’t buy Johnny Roadhouse guitars!
Almost but not enough to mistake me for him
Another thing about expensive haircuts is you don’t really notice how good a job they did until it grows out a bit
That’s a good point
Decent haircuts in Sweden are mad expensive. Just get mine done every 6 months and it costs way too much.
My best mate’s brother used to work at Toni & Guy and he would cut my hair after hours if I brought the beers. Those were the best I ever got.
