You’re thinking of Steely Danzig

I listened to Late Junction over Christmas when Stewart Lee was guest hosting. Haven’t listened again since.

Same.

Late Junction is great, really hope they don’t scrap it but looks unlikely they’ll u-turn. There’s lots of good stuff on R3 more generally, especially at the weekends or after 8-9pm most evenings. They broadcast every Prom live during the summer, which is a nice soundtrack to stick on when cooking.

Drama stuff can be a bit hit and miss, although they did a great set of short Beckett plays a few years ago with Ian McKellen.

Occasionally. More often listen to Classic FM for that kind of thing though (I get they’re a bit different before anyone points it out)

My mum had a radio 3 sticker in the rear window of her car (that was acceptable in the 80s)

The Unbelievable Truth is v good and there’s lots of classics from the archives on Radio 4 Extra. enjoyable revisiting On the Hour again recently.

Alright Calvin Harris.

Yup, frequently. Just today I was enjoying Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, and they’re doing a good series of concerts from the Belfast Music Festival at the moment. I am a classical music nerd, though.

I do quite like the unbelievable truth. I will also listen to (and occasionally chuckle at) both I’m Sorry I haven’t a Clue AND Just a minute (depending on who’s on).

obviously the now show is unlistenable though

Again, depends who’s on, but it’s usually worth a chuckle. Used to prefer the News Quiz to it, but reckon they’ve switched round now.

Only knowingly listened to it once, and was surprised to hear Forever by Goldfrapp being played. Always thought it was just classical.

You understand this is your new band name, right? I don’t make the rules.

Yes, it’s the obvious choice if you want some easy classical to listen to in the car (classic fm has a very short and predictably repetitive playlist, and an awful lot of karl Jenkins). It was a godsend for getting a crying baby to sleep.

yeah i dip into those based on the guests. only really listen to the Graeme Garden episodes of Sorry I Haven’t a Clue mostly

tried a couple of episodes of The Now Show a while back but couldn’t handle it. they had someone doing satirical musical comedy and I had to switch it off. meant to try and dip back in when they’ve had better guests but never got round to it. it does seem to absolutely epitomise what people think all Radio 4 comedy is like.

quite like The News Quiz but primarily for Miles Jupp. guests are of varying quality (Andrew Maxwell is always very good value though) and the journo types especially are increasingly smug and annoying. was exceptionally hit and miss with the guest hosts last year (disclaimer: i’ve only been listening to it since Jupp took over)

This is on Radio 3 and is good: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b02sl2

It is the only radio station I listen to. It engages me. It helps me think and challenges me.
