I would say all these songs are really quite famous. I’ve known most of them, but far less commonly do I know the opening second of their intro.
Well that just sounds like a you problem.

I think it’s pretty normal for people to not know the intros to big songs they only know through hearing it on the radio/when out and about etc. I’ve lost track of the number of times there have been massive songs being played that I’ve heard hundreds of times and I’ve thought “THATS the intro?!”

Yeah definitely. Annoys me a bit in these threads when people are like ‘got it in 1, obviously’ or ‘ha! easy’ cause it’s only easy if you know it. I was just referring specifically to today’s answer (and continuing my long-running vendetta against Theo).

Nope, not a clue.
There’s even been a few where they sound like they deliberately have a few seconds at the intro that is designed for radio where it’ll be talked over/faded in.
