Think its one of those things in cricket.

Is is arm straight on delivery?
Yes.

Why would it be banned? Is only over the shoulder delivery allowed? Think someone who had a different approach would be very interesting in the sport.

Like for instance check out this video of a side armed or submarine relief pitchers in majors. Look at the dip, and throwing a rotation of 4 pitcher (fastball, slider, curveball, changeup for instance), absolutely deadly.

Ok I think I get it

This lad has an actual double joint in his wrist and if you look at the spin as it leaves his arm, well, it’s practically unplayable because nobody can see it coming

The actual angle of the arm is irrelevant (under arm pea rollers are legal, but against the spirit of the game).

The issue (not with malinga mind) is about the angle of bend in the elbow. Most “over the top” bowlers struggle to keep a full straight extension during their action. Malinga’s is straighter than many bowlers. The term is throwing. Throwing is illegal in cricket. There is a degree of elbow flex allowed.

Good, I spent ages on that diagram. Ages.

Name a better video, I’ll wait

I really want to get into cricket. Because it has a lot of similarities to baseball, the scoring is tough for me though. But I love sport if I just followed it for awhile I’d be right into it I would imagine.

hands down my favourite day out is a day at the cricket. Sink a load of beers, fall asleep in the sun, complete a crossword, get sunburnt. It’s actually perfect.

It’s not so complicated. Start with a T20 game or something. Over in 2½hrs.

Christ, Bryce Harper’s hair

Ooh, they have hawkeye in baseball. That’s a cricket thing

I love how its a world sport (besides the US ) Love how Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, always seem to have good national teams. England too of course.

Prima donna, 350 million dollar prima donna though
