I’m not one of those people who complains and dislikes a show because its characters aren’t likable, or that they aren’t nice (If the characters or plot are going somewhere interesting, I can care about them, even if they’re dislikable), but Six Feet Under managed to lose me after a series or two when everyone in the programme was just so self-obsessed and harming each other.
Really liked it overall, stand by my opinion in another of these threads that Nate is the worst leading character any serious modern HBO type drama has ever had.
I have really vivid memories of Six Feet Under for many reasons:
was one of the first noughties US telly shows Channel 4 bought and aired, and they really pushed it and the ads were amazing
stayed up really late to watch it every week and when I couldn’t watch it I would record it on video and later DVD (???)
all the people I ended up hanging out with at uni were really into it, so we spent days and days watching the box sets
I still regularly think about “That’s my dog” episode
some of the intro deaths were amazing. The sex doll flying into the air and then a lady thinking it was the second coming and crashing her car? Amazing.
I think I must have watched until Nate was living in a hut or seeing the lady who was living in a hut. That could have been the first episode I can’t remember much about the show sorry.
