I remember a lot of disers moshing to these choons at Pitchfork ATP. Strangely these twee pop songs produced some of the most intense most pits I’ve ever been involved in.

That gig was ace. All bands were on form that night.

Definitely the band I’ve seen the most, starting with Birmingham Barfly in 2007 and then Koko last year. Always good fun.

There was a facebook post a couple of hours ago saying, ‘Related commemorations and celebrations coming soon’

Have still never seen them. They rarely play Ireland. Fingers crossed for a gig in the next few years.

Missed them in Glasgow on both the last two tours like a muppet. Probably my favourite UK band that I haven’t seen live yet, so i need to correct that asap.

It will be 10 years this year since the DiS Shred Yr Face tour: Los Camp, No Age, Times New Viking.

@sean - 10 year anniversary tour? :slight_smile:

Took me until this post to realise which band.

I don’t think I’ve played it in about 10 years, either. Might have to rectify that.

Seems mad they’ve been going ten years really. I listened to this album just now and I think it’s decent, but that’s about it really, nothing special. But if the first 15-20 songs they wrote as a band, 13 ended up on here, so we can’t judge too harshly. Hope they do a tour where they do this and and WAB, WAD back to back. That’d be ace.

I was at my MA graduation last week and Gareth was working there! He was in red robes and I didn’t say hello because I had to be back in the hall to hear Jeremy Irons give a speech and then I didn’t see him again. :frowning:

Said on their Twitter they’ll do something to commemorate it. Oooh!

Listened to it this evening, I still know pretty much every word, it’s so raucous and fun and daft.

NOTHING SAYS I MISS YOU QUITE LIKE WAR POETRY CARVED IN YOUR DOOR WITH A STANLEY KNIFE

Yeah man. Exuberant singalong indie pop with funny lyrics about broken hearts and lower league football. They’re pretty Marmite though, if you like it they’ll be your favourite band, if you don’t like it you’ll think they’re a war crime.

This is probably as representative as anything:

It seems longer than 10 years to me. I first found out about Los Campesinos! on the Football Manager forums as Gareth used to post there, liked my friends band and offered them a support slot at the Spitz. Seemed a really nice guy.

@anon5266188, is that thread still active on the FM forums? I’ve not logged in for 8 years or so.

Not even the best album they released in 2008

WABWAD > Romance > Hello Sadness > No Blues > HONY

Probably like WABWAD most these days, mainly because of the velocity it has. They sound like a band possessed on it.

Think I listened to Sick Scenes about twice, which is no comment on the quality really, more my inconsistent listening habits. Sorry lads. Really like that “only a part-time grass / but a full-time asshole” bit though.

Had a copy of their original demo, wonder if I still do…

was a big fan from since they posted their demos on old dis, but weirdly lost interest by the time hello sadness came out (which seems to be when most people thought they got good…). Always enjoyed the fact that they were all the same age as me and so it was fun to watch their development/ageing alongside my own (that sounds really weird).

for the record:

RIB > WABWAD > HONY > SS > HS > NB

Sounds a bit too earnest and happy for me :frowning:

My god if that’s happy you must listen to some right miserable shit.
