I only know people on the East Coast but I so want to go to the West next time - Portland too or Seattle etc etc. Just seems like a lot of effort and cost for a solo holiday …

Look, I’m trying to be the Italian holiday maestro of the boards, get your own shtick!

I’m going to Bilbao in a couple of weeks and thinking of having a day or so in San Sebastian

Anybody got any tips? Any places to stay?

Any mountain in particular? I live there and I can’t really be arsed with that.

I’d definitely go to san seb. Just eat pinxtos and walk around the old town.

Pointy ones maybe? Hadn’t really thought this through tbqfh.

Ah, you’ll be fine. Think they have both types.

Got some stuff planned

Quite hyped tbh, like I hadn’t really had holidayses for over a decade, so it’s nice to be going on the odd trip every so often

I was going to say I had an absolutely rubbish holiday there but it turns out that was Sardinia, not Sicily, and I’ve been unfairly dismissing Sicily as being shit for about 5 years.

You’re welcome.

It’s great.
The architecture is great.
The history is great.
The food is great.
The weather is great.

We had a few days there a couple of years ago, and stayed in Syracuse/Ortigia - which is just stunning. From there we also had a day trip to Noto (absolutely beautiful - highly recommended), and Etna (it’s a great big volcano, brilliant).

We never made it to Palermo.

tbf we just stayed somewhere rubbish and it was in the middle of nowhere and we didn’t rent a car and there were no buses, so it was at least 95% our fault.

If you go by train from the mainland, they put the train onto a ferry.

It’s worth going for that alone tbh
