got an upset stomach in Slovenia so couldn’t go down the caves like I wanted :frowning: Nearly cried in the pharmacist getting something to settle my stomach

It could have been, I was a dumb 19yo at the time and my mother just gave me a list of things to take daily and I did without reading into it  totally worked though, as well as sticking to bottled or hot drinks and hot food only

Usually I go to the Czech Republic in the summer with my friends for a music festival and sometimes some stuff before after. There will always be an hour where I throw a strop with someone and stop speaking for an hour then I’ll get over myself.

If you’re ever in Japan, then I can recommend the baseball.

It’s much more tribal than in the US, with no mixing of fans. Every player has their own song, too.

If you can, a Friday night game at one of the ‘underdog’ teams (eg the Swallows), followed by a post-game ramen and drinks with some fellow supporters is a brilliant way to spend an evening.

This sounds just like my time in China. I can’t imagine how I would’ve got around the country without someone having organised everything for me - would’ve spent most of my time trying to translate stuff

Bane of my existence

It’s pretty much my job, total busman’s holiday vibe to it when it’s for myself. It’s usually why I take my holiday as extra days in the place we’ve all gone for work and fly back after I’ve not seen any fucking cyclists for a few extra days :joy::joy::joy:

Hmmm

Joke Holidays

You don’t have Lower Austria’s Finest Bat and Stalactite Cave though, eh? How can you call it a full life if you don’t visit that?

can smell that rich musky ammonia aroma

The guides I’ve had have been amazing, properly come across as calm and organised and then they admit at the end of the holiday that it was an actual nightmare behind the scenes

yeah! that was the first place I ever stayed in abroad.

I mostly remember the bar and the giant bottles of cheap booze… not sure I remember the room we stayed in

Ahaha :joy: I can imagine. I’m a cool professional and once we’ve finally got everything to the venue, all the people and kit, I go to my room and scream ARRGHHHHHHH into a pillow and help myself to the minibar and reset :joy::joy::joy:

Most summers I do this kind of job for teenagers who come on holiday to the UK. Can confirm.

Actually the most stressful work day I ever had was taking adults on a similar bus day trip. At least teenagers have a vague idea that they’re supposed to listen to instructions.

I can imagine cyclists are the worst
