Loads of short-ish breaks coming up :slightly_smiling_face:

Berlin this weekend
Edinburgh middle of July
Island Of White end of July
St Malo middle of August
Guernsey end of August
Week in Lefkada for half term in October
Stuttgart middle of November

Looking forward to all of them

We went to Montreal/Toronto/Chicago last month for two weeks. It was amazing.

No more holidays until next year.

We took a pre-loaded card with us (it was a type of MasterCard), which meant that we could withdraw and use cash of different currencies. I can’t remember the exact name of it though.

I went to a Barcelona the other week which was nice. If was my first holiday in years.

Like @anon5266188 I want to do a football related weekend away around October time. Ideally Dortmund or Seville.

+1 for getting a specialist credit card, so long as you ensure you pay it off in full

That said, it’s surprising in just how many countries cash is still king and where you either get a better deal paying in cash or cards just aren’t accepted in places; Greece, Japan (!), Germany (wtf?)…

A holiday near that particular French city, eh?

That sounds like it would be

Hehe have fun!

Well assuming you are sticking around St. Pauli/Reeperbahn, the jolly Rodger is the famous St. Pauli FC bar, Knust is a nice wee outdoor market/venue with outdoor places, and pizza bande is a great eat. All the Beatles history stuff is around there too.

If you can check out nearby sternschanze which has some nice places like Altes Mädchen (Ratsherrn’s brewhouse), Yoko Mono and Haus 73. The beach in Altona is well worth a visit on a nice day, as is Entenwerder (Duck Island) if you happen to end up more towards the east, but I imagine it will just be Reeperbahn

Gross innit, kinda fun to visit at least once though just to see it

Just outside of Ortigia this time after staying in it a couple of years ago. It’s a beaut island innit, much prefer it to mainland Italy.

Ordered a Revolut card for our hols:

Meant to be pretty good. It’s linked to your bank account via an app and you can load it with £ and exchange to dollars/euros. Can also take cash out at ATMs

Plan is Kobenhavn for first time to go to and drink all the mikkeller:

Going on a three week solo trip to Peru and Bolivia in September. Have a trek to Machu Picchu booked and not much else apart from that. Really looking forward to it!

Am also looking at getting either a Revolut or Monzo card for it

Going on a cruise round the Greek islands in August, I’m too fat and hairy to enjoy the heat usually but should be able to retreat to air conditioning often enough to survive.

Hoping to do another city break too - been to Paris and Berlin this year so maybe Prague, Reykjavik or somewhere in Norway.

Do you live there?

I went to watch the europa league final in an interesting bar. Zoo. It was a st Pauli anti nazi skinhead bar. Seemed like it was for regulars only but i stayed in there
