Wow, I hadnāt realised you loved Same Place quite that much! Cool list
3-5 are pretty interchangeable for me but i think all that top 5 are essential.
now to POLLS for Mag Earwhig
4 tracks
Iāve really fallen behind on these. I liked Under the Bushes but felt I didnāt spend much time with it. Think I needed a break - so many new songs each week lol. Will catch up soon.
Only started listening to GBV when this thread began and theyāre my 11th or 12th most listened to artist for the year. Can see them cracking the top 10 before itās over.
yeah its pretty relentless! thereāll be a Christmas break and a break between the original album run and the reunion albums (with supplementary listens available, but no core studio albums)
now itās time to hit the pop big leagues, and DO THE COLLAPSE
Of all the albums weāve covered so far this is maybe the one Iām least familiar with. I know a handful of tracks very very well, but Iāve only ever heard the full album once or twice.
Little Lines and I Am Produced only very narrowly missing out for me here
Getting in on the Hold On Hope chat early - itās an utterly fantastic song
Iāve really come round to it (and the album) in the past few years.
Another one where the fact it stands out from bobs usual style works totally in its favour
Iām not a massive fan of Teenage FBI mind
I wasnāt, then when I found out it was about being discovered picking your nose I found it strangely charming again
Only heard the studio version, will give this a go
I think the fucking shit keyboard sound on the studio version really hurts it but itās an incredible song.
This post paid for by PROF$.
Yeah they didnāt even use the studio version on the greatest hits album!
Dougās lead lines are fantastic all over this thing
aka the one where most of the best songs were inexplicably left off the album by Ric Ocasek, who Bob left the song selection to.
