Your Mum is into GBV???
Some yeah, loves Drinkerās Peace and Girls of Wild Strawberries and weāve listened to enough of their albums on long car rides before
Wow, thatās cool.
My Mum heard a brief blast of āMy Kind of Soldierā a couple of years ago and absolutely hated it
Too soon for a leaderboard?
- Devil Between My Toes
- Forever Since Breakfast
Pretty uncontroversial at this early stage, Devil is clearly the more interesting/adventurous of the two releases to these ears.

LITTLE FINGERRRRRRRRRRRRRRSā¦
I havenāt been able to get She Wants To Know from the first album out of my head all week. The lyrics are nothing special, but paired with that melody I think itās surprisingly moving.
Woke up today singing Letās Ride myself
Yeah, itās a real earworm that. Pops in my head all the time.
SHE WANTS TO KNOW!
WHICH WAY THE WIND BLOW-OHS!
Has a very quintessential 60s pop hook vibe.
Mum takes:
Just listened to Forever since breakfast, just fab, love She wants to know
i need to see what my mum thinks of GBV
Love this
Said she head The Byrds and Gram Parsons influence in there too
But not REM. Idiot!
Has your mum been reading my posts on drownedinsound dot com?
Have you even heard Chronic Town mum??? God, youāre so embarrassing
Right from the first second of Old Battery I knew Iād like this a lot more. Too many nothingy instrumentals but I quite like the vibe of the whole thing. Creepier moments good, melodic moments good - I dig it!
Probably going to make a GBV playlist of my fav stuff as we go. Old Battery, Wallace Chambers, Cyclops, and Captainās Dead are making the cut right now.
Iāll be doing a playlist of the top voted tracks like people suggested as we go also, but obvs that may not match up with your own favs

I gave this a six in the end. Loved the high points, but probably a few too many nothingy songs to lift it up to a seven.
