I had a training course where we covered some bomb attacks in recent history, and they were very clear that what we would be shown were CGI recreations of the events, showing the damage the bombs did, but nothing involving real or even digital people. Or when they did show “real” clips it was times when there were no casualties or it was clips from training grounds or testing facilities.
I was quite impressed they were so clear about this, as soon as they mentioned what they were showing I thought there’d be a chance of seeing some pretty vivid stuff. Which wouldn’t affect me that much but I’d feel bad for others who might have much stronger reactions.
Anyway, just shows you can deal with the most horrific events that claim many lives without having to further shock or scar the people you’re trying to inform. So yes, complain or at least comment, hopefully they might change their practices. I’d say just mention that it reminded you of a traumatic event in your past (if you felt comfy disclosing this) and that they should reconsidering the video or st least give much clearer warnings as they have no idea how many people may feel similarly to you.
Hope you feel better man
