Totally. Technical proficiency of the performers for me has no bearing on enjoyment of the music.

aye, do wonder if it is drilled into our heads because of the media or because of the “I wanted to buy a gun and randomly open fire” line.

“Naw but ye have to admit tho, she’s a really good singer isn’t she?”

Rolling In The Deep is horrific. Quite like Someone Like You and Hello. 2/5.

1/5 generally don’t mind music I don’t like, rare to actively dislike it, but Adele’s music is bad, makes any room worse to be in. Seems like bad singers are better at conveying emotion than good singers, who seem to think they are coming across really sincere with these techniques but has the opposite effect

I don’t think she has a good voice at all she just sings loudly

Cracking voice she doesn’t do much interesting with it. I do love Set Fire To The Rain though. Would go 3/5 but knocking off a point for being a Tory so 2/5 it is.

This is genuinely the best thing Adele’s ever been involved in

Her voice is good but in the same way that X Factor contestants have good voices. Can project well but not much else

rolling in the deep and rumour has it are bangers but most of her stuff is boring or worse, actively annoying like set fire to the rain and someone like you. really wish she’d go for a more motown-y sound, then i could get into her, but as it is she gets a 2

Yeah I think there’s a David Byrne quote that’s saying pretty much this

Any proof of this?

This is how I feel about Florence and her machine. Basically one gear, and that gear is POWERDRIVE

For example: the GoConpare jingle - sung pitch perfect with astounding technique by a proper opera singer.
Proficiency is nothing if what you’re singing is doggerel.

Politically, Adele is a supporter of the Labour Party, stating “I’m a Labour girl through and through,” despite in May 2011 having reportedly expressed views on taxation counter to those of the party. In October 2016, just two weeks before the presidential election in the United States, Adele publicly endorsed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, telling an audience in Miami, “Don’t vote for [Donald Trump],” and that although she is not American, the election would still affect the UK and other countries as well.
