šŸŽµ How Good Are They Really šŸŽµ Aerosmith

Can confirm the rock n’ rollercoaster is great fun. Only been on the Disneyland Paris one but assume it’s the same thing. Went through a bit of an aerosmith ā€˜phase’ when my musical tastes were in transition a while ago. Had a great time listening to a lot of naff songs from the 70’s/80’s until they hit rock’s nadir in the 90’s. Fantastic bobbins that I have no desire to stick on but will have a good time if I hear it.

Aerosmith: generous 3/5
Rollercoasters: 5/5

Was on the one in Orlando and it was 5/5. 0 to 60 mph in 2 seconds.

If the Rock n Rollercoaster turns out to be their lasting legacy, it will be a good one.

I remember that it was actually what started my Aerosmith phase now. Damn, that’s good marketing.

My wife is a massive fan. I’ve never liked them at all. Went to see them live with her and … they were absolutely brilliant.

Still never want to listen to them though.

2/5?

My cousin’s first dance at her wedding was to Don’t Want To Miss A Thing and despite how cheesy it was I was quite moved and a bit sad that my bf wasn’t there to have a cuddle with me.

(He dumped me that weekend)

Would also like to big up Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios for music/rollercoaster crossover. Listening to Kanye (or whatever your artist of choice is) whilst being shot 90 degrees into the air at blistering speed is the stuff dreams are made of.

This is now the rollercoaster thread

Lying close to you, feeling your heart beating
And I’m wondering what you’re dreaming
Wondering if it’s me you’re seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God we’re together

Weird.

Can’t believe the phrase 'rock and rollercoaster’is being used without irony

Really hope Brad Whitford chose his look to highlight how preposterously vain the other two are.

Good for some mid-90s teen reverie, the Cryin’ video especially. When I was 14 Aerosmith’s Big Ones and Bon Jovi’s Crossroad were on very heavy rotation. Could be tempted to a 3 on the strength of a handful of properly great tracks that are sort of permanently lodged in my brain, but Tyler’s obviously trash, so I guess probably a 2.

It’s really uncomfortable. My brother made my go on it a bunch of times and it was p horrible. Not worth it. You wanna go on The Mummy ride, that’s the goddamn bomb.

Anyway I first came across yer Aerosmith lads on the Disney rollercoaster, aged about 15, I thought they were a non-brand version of Spinal Tap made up especially for the ride because they couldn’t get the rights.

In the years since I’ve learned that they’re real, but my opinion is that they are Not Good. However, Her Indoors really digs them for some reason. I discovered this when they got announced for Glastonbury and she got all excited and a couple of hours later I realised she wasn’t joking. I’ve let her vote in the polls, and even she can only give them a 3 even tho she really likes them. Weird band.

The Mummy ride is pretty, pretty, pretty great. When those scarab beetles come out the walls!

Universal Studios has 1 (one) good ride, and that is it. Walking around the Simpsons bit is a great time tho.

Joe Perry looks really good tbf
