5 for the highs, 2 for the years of lazy uninspired dross

3 or a 4, cant decide.

It was good when they were touring Madonna and were face meltingly good. I know volume doesn’t equal good, but they were such a force to be reckoned with. Really fucking exciting and incendiary. Similar to ATDI at the time in that the gig would start and it’d just go off the hook.

Another one for Madonna and Source Tags and then it’s all a bit flat. Listened to most albums at least once i reckon but aside from the odd track here and there they’ve been pretty underwhelming.

Thought it’d be good seeing them do Madonna in a pub down the road a couple of years back, and it started fun but then soon fizzled out. Not a patch on who they were but then it was 20 years later so who can blame 'em.

Probably a 5 for Madonna and that time tbf

You’re a Mars Volta fan, you should know better

At least with TMV they were interesting failures. ToD trying to recapture their glory days comes across as a bit tragic.

Never listened, will never listen. 1/5

You’d definitely like Madonna

for why

Have two CD copies of it, along with three of their other albums.

Still not going to listen to any of them.

Life is too short japes.

They’re a bit like if Fucked Up were good

If you’ve heard one bootleg sonic youth riff, you’ve heard em all.

know absolutely nothing. will give them a wee spin.

According to the band’s website, their name is taken from an ancient Mayan ritual chant which showed a similarity to an ancient Egyptian chant.[4] They have also stated that this is a joke.[5]

Proper WH behaviour. Love it.

Sonic Youth.

Sometimes loud clattering, rough out of tune riffs and powerhouse drumming. Other times a bit melodic prog (but without the boredom) with flashes of incredible energy.

Clearly, I’m not a music journalist.

Try the song Mark David Chapman for size.

Imagine if one guy was into 80s punk and hardcore and another guy was really into prog and they formed a band but didn’t have punk songs and prog songs but just mashed it all together and also there’s two drummers a lot of the time, but better than that sounds.
