Never really listened to her but that’s on me, good chance she is a 5/5

Love her of course. Come to Me is one of my favourite songs ever.
You know that song at the end of The Two Towers? Wish she’d sung that.

5

Really struggled between a 4 and a 5 but had to go with a 4 with her last couple albums, particularly the last one.

First four albums are incredible though.

At her best, she’s absolutely mind-blowingly good, so even though I’ve never really got into her recent albums, and in fact wouldn’t tend to pick anything she’s done in the last 18 years to listen to, she’s an easy 5.

I don’t think so. I think those of us who aren’t giving 4s or 5s, as we’ve seen so far, will still be appreciative and respectful of her talents, it’s just not really to everyone’s taste.

I’ve seen her live twice - Glastonbury 2007, where she had a a React-Table player and even when the right side of the stage went quiet during declare independence, just watching her own it on stage was captivating enough. Bestival in 2011 was a bit of an odd one, as she played 8 tracks off an at the time unreleased Biophillia, which didn’t go down too well with everyone near me. Mutual Core was one of the best things I’d ever seen live though.

Had seen footage of her live and it looked amazing and then thought last year’s all points East was a bit disappointing when I got to see her

Having just quickly listened through a few of the singles from the poll this morning I think I’ll up to a 3. It’s clearly very good music, I just don’t really have any desire to listen to it.

I’d give a 4/5 just for her work with the sugarcubes. There is still nothing like her voice on the Icelandic version of Birthday.
But then she went solo and got even better and more creative. A stunning Artist with a capital A.

Homogenic is one of my favourite albums of all time. All Is Full Of Love fills me with a warm glow, every listen.

Drifted a little too far into concept-over-listenability for me to enjoy the last 2 albums musically, but I still find her utterly fascinating.

An easy 5/5

Looking forward to a binge today!

Do sometimes wish she’d stop wanking around and write some tunes these days but it’s still a 5/5 for her whole career. A truly unique and original singer and performer who artists will turn to for inspiration for generations, from an era when it was still difficult for a female solo artist to lead the zeitgeist. Incredibly dense and rich body of work. Can’t really love her enough.

Was that the Orher Stage headline when she pretty much did a greatest hits set, clubby as hell?
That was an incredible set.

oooft! just looked at the setlist, 10 tracks off Utopia, 1 off Vulnicura and then only 1 song from each of the first three albums. She can do whatever she wants, but I can see how that would be disappointing.

That’s the one. 6 tracks off Homogenic and 3 from Post.

Yeah I expressed a similar opinion just after the set and got widely derided in the APE 2018 thread but still maintain I was right :man_shrugging:t2:

Imagine if that’d been my live bjork experience she’d have a 4. She’ll be disappointed with that

a visionary genius who made some big tunes back in the day and now makes incredibly complex boundary pushing yet emotional multimedia works. PLUS seems like a lovely person. Can’t ask much more from an artist than that. It took me about six months to get into Utopia because it’s so unlike anything else, but I really love it now, feels like taking a holiday on an alien moon.

Massive 5

Did really enjoy this tour, but it was only my second time seeing her, and first for 10 years so I can have used a few classics. That said it was still a big spectacle, just a little… difficult. Hope she does a career spanning tour between albums at some point
