Mm, gonna regret this but

  • Dookie
  • Blink 182 s/t

 disagree. I particularly enjoy the bits where Mark is loudly making ‘ohhhhhhhh’ noises while playing a bongo or something.

Wasting Time is my fave :sparkling_heart:

This is correct except s/t which I’m guessing you just have a personal thing for
The run of Smash > Dookie > EOTS = Nimrod is perfect listing

Took me ages to admit I even liked s/t, but years down the line, I just think it’s better than any of those other ones

This is really hard.

Blink 182 > Box Car Racer > Neighborhoods (Deluxe Edition) = Dude Ranch > TOYPAJ > EOTS > Cheshire Cat > Buddha >>>>>> post-Tom output

Warning = Insomniac > Dookie = Nimrod = American Idiot > the early ones >>>>> post-American Idiot

I have no idea how to combine the two lists. Warning / Insomniac would probably be right behind Box Car Racer.

Dookie - Nimrod - American Idiot are impossible to evaluate. Dookie is the most consistent, Nimrod might be more enjoyable but it has a couple of turds near the end, and American Idiot has some of their best songs (the two long songs, Letterbomb, Whatsername) but some cringe moments too that are very hard to get past.

No way should Warning be in considerstion for best Green Day album

I think if it weren’t for Insomniac it would easily be their best. I love the sad melodies, and Misery easily could have been a disaster but instead it’s great and works really well as an album centerpiece.

The Downtown rip off and Minority are unbearable

Completely with you on Insomniac as best Green Day album btw

I think Waiting is one of the best ones, but Minority, yeah I can see how it could be annoying. The lyrics in particular - I’d always given them the benefit of the doubt, but given what came later maybe I shouldn’t have. It’s weird reading reviews of the album that call it the best song on there.

Always forget what a great album Neighbourhoods actually is.

They absolutely nailed the transition from the Interlude into Heart’s All Gone.

Also it’s massively clear that Cure copying Tom is miles better at Blink 182 songs than Matt Skiba.

Stick to your guns pal - Warning is a fabulous album, especially when you consider the band was literally on the verge of splitting up. The title track plods and Minority has been overplayed, but the rest is brilliant - Jackass would be in my top 5 GD songs for example.

It’s so under-rated, even by some GD uber fans, but I believe it’s the hidden gem within their catalogue.

Oh yeah, Jackass is one of my absolute favorites of theirs too. I had no idea they were on the verge of splitting up, probably because the album is so great. It was an instant classic for me.

I’m sure this wasn’t what you meant but that reads like you’re speculating that “they were on the verge of spilling up because the album is so great”

and if that was what you meant, even better!

I’m going to start telling everyone this is why the Pumpkins broke up in 2000.
