Turns out that it isn’t!

A few 80s output defenders maybe?

Might be wrong but I’d guess they’d be a 1. something.

Think this might be the hardest singles vote I’ve had yet. I went with Atomic but could just as easily have picked One Way or Another, Call Me or Heart of Glass

Yeah no deep cuts on this one. Top 5 on the vote will go on the playlist.

Best US band of all time for my money :+1:

I mean in terms of the score itself it’s stupidly low but if you accept the premise that there would always be some edgelords voting him down he’s in very good company in terms of the artists around him on a similar score - Kanye, ABBA, Beyoncé, Joni Mitchell.

Love love love love love them. Sure albums are patchy but they are a singles band through and through. Genuinely can’t pick just one as a favourite!

Also had an hilarious DJ experience that was straight out of a sitcom involving Atomic

4 for me

Don’t leave us hanging dingers, come on now

Completely unique vocalist. Up there with Karen Dalton, Kate Bush, Diana Ross, Joni Mitchell, Billie Holliday, Joan Baez, Areatha Franklin, etc. Best frontwoman of a band by a mile. Good egg as well. Cool as fuck, then and now.

Always thought Maria’s a massive banger considering it was released so long after their peak. Rare you get an artist release one of their best singles decades after the height of their powers.

Had a lovely time by myself at 11:30am in the drizzle at Glastonbury at Blondie, ended up dancing with a group of mums. Their singles are very fun and very good.

The five-est 5 of all. Not to over-egg it, but they are the band that basically shaped my taste in music. The first album I ever bought was Parallel Lines and I still listen to it today, terrific songs all the way through. The first 4 albums are all excellent and show a band maturing from their punk roots and experimenting with pop, electronic, rap, stadium-fillers. Debbie Harry is one of the great pop icons with an underrated voice (imo) and Clem Burke has a genuine shout at being one of the greatest drummers of all

Very easy targets, and cunts they may be, but their first 5 albums are all great
