oh yeah, his stuff on Past is Prologue/Sunrise Projector and even reaching to Dive is basically the more “easier” Boards of Canada stuff, and I adore that stuff a lot.

When he became they* around Awake I felt they sift a bit in a direction more towards electronic-post-rock, but that recent album Simulcast did a fair bit of work to head back towards the BoC direction I think personally

he walk sthe fine line between pastiche, good stuff, and parody very tightly. even sunrise projector as an album name is very BoCsey

*but this i mean a band with other members

I very much dismissed Tycho as being a straight-up BoC copycat artist when he started out but I have subsequently warmed to him and despite the early stuff being a naked pastiche, he’s actually got some great music.
