Also love John Wesley Harding-era and feel it’s very underrated (I gave a 4)

It’s fucking devastating, I adore it. So
Contrasting the original version.

It’s also not on Spotify I’m afraid.

Love that simple twist of fate style bass part and the organ is beautiful too. I presume it’s buried on a 3867 disc box set somewhere?

Just find that I stick on those records most regularly! Honestly don’t tire of them at all.

Though after exploring more of 70s / early 80s stuff, I’m equally as drawn to Desire and Slow Train Coming for similar reasons.

When you originally posted this thread I thought Dylan would split opinion down the middle, mainly because so many people on DiS haven’t a fucking clue! :grinning::wink:
So that’s actually a higher score than I was expecting.:+1:

Can’t judge it just by the comments in the thread I guess.

John Wesley Harding isn’t one of my top favourites but i like how understated it is. i like that he spent 3 albums becoming a rockstar culminating in a big double album like Blonde on Blonde and cultivating this image as the coolest man alive, crashes his motorbike and then comes back as a chilled out folk singer with a minimal backing band as if the last 3 albums never happened
