I like Pink Diamond, was that not a single?

Not according to the ol’ Wikipedia.

I’ve loved everything I’ve heard but I have never gone in depth with her. 4/5 from what I’ve heard thus far.

Didn’t mind the odd single from way back but never really cared or paid attention beyond enjoying I Don’t Care as much as anyone who likes shouting along to stuff

Still never got into Pop 2 when everyone was raving about it, but must have heard Track 10 and then at least piqued my interested - and Boys was one to be one of those weirdly annoying but catchy ear worms you just can’t forget.

Then Charli came out and I was obsessed with it. I know a lot of fans see it as a let down, but I thought it covered so much ground so well and was just so damn cool. That and How I’m Feeling Now both ended up in my top 5 albums of those years, too many great songs to even pick favourites and such interesting and layered production.

Instinct said a 4/5 but two such great albums in a row is making me consider a 5 … How I’m Feeling Now is also one of only two valid pieces of art so far which directly address lockdown and the pandemic (along with Bo Burnhan)

She’s got a handful of absolute tunes, but overall wildly overrated for me. Really like some of the stuff from True Romance, and Crash might be up my street, but I just don’t really get on with most of her catalogue and don’t think there are as many bangers as people say. Her voice grates pretty quickly too. 2/5

Lord knows how I heard it then. It’s a banger regardless

Probably a 3 if im honest. Moments where im a big fan are often fleeting. Doesnt have the staying power (for ne) to be a 4 or 5. An album will come out and ill listen to it and enjoy it a a lot then after a couple days i forget about it.

Pop 2 is the excwption thats great

Along with Sophie, Charli got me into pop (2) music and enjoying bangers for bangers’ sake. That singles list is a ridiculous bunch of bops, and it doesn’t even include her biggest one - Vroom Vroom. She has a great attitude - speaking openly about mental health, providing a platform for other, often LGBTQ+, artists and is a very funny person. The creation of How I’m Feeling Now is one of the most amazing reactions to lockdown, not only the creativity of making that album but the way she brought her fans right into the heart of the process  Her live shows are incredible, and you can really see that she gives it her all.

I got into her when Pop 2 came out, but at the time I still felt like I couldn’t like pop music as a legit form of music and it is only ok to play it ironically. Something between the critical praise and the response on here changed the way I enjoyed it, and all of pop music really.

I am not connecting with the new material to the same extent as I have with that run of Pop 2 - Charli - HIFN, but that is probably one of my favourite run of albums by anyone ever so it is understandable. Still looking forward to hearing her work with OPN and I enjoy the way she has been nakedly billing this as her ‘sellout era’ and the last album as part of major label deal.

So yeah, one of my absolute favs - it’s Charli baby! 5/5
