3FH&R without the skits is like a car without wheels. Thereās a whole narrative mixed into the album. Canāt go on the proper journey without them.
Listening to a De La Soul album for the first time.
go in order!
For sure. That tends to be my approach unless a debut isnāt well-regarded. But in this case it seems to be the most popular so the choice was clear.
Have always loved the run of I Am I Be, In the Woods and Breakadawn. I think itās the album of theirs that I have listened to most.
I know 3FH but thatās it so, Iām also excited for this journey
Canāt say I miss the era of every rap album being over an hour though
I do. I always feel cheated when an album is under 45 minutes haha
Canāt think of many hip-hop acts with such a strong 4 album run, and such a variety of opinions on what the best one is. De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Gang Starrā¦
You sicken me
if Eye Know ever fails to lift my mood then just shoot me, cos Iād already be dead inside
Always knew you were a massive Steely Dan fan deep down inside
Shout out to the Anonymous Nobody too, some brilliant moments in that album
Youāre dead to me
Love that album! Very underrated.
Think literally the only opening four album run that competes with De La is Outkast tbh
Sooooā¦.other than the 30 seconds chopped off āCool Breezeā¦ā, has anyone noticed anything glaring in terms of edits yet? Have to confess itās been so long since Iāve listened to the original album that nothingās sticking out for me, but Iāve seen a few people having a bit of a grumble on Twitter and in various comments sections.
Iām the same, but I never listened to them anywhere near as much as I should have, so I canāt hear anything glaringly obvious and iām almost definitely missing the subtle changes. I assume the most of the changes are on the first two recordsā¦?
