^potw there

I was a big fan of Watching Movies and just thought of him as he’s the only other acclaimed recent white rapper to my knowledge

Think he eventually earnt his place and acceptance by being a true savant and lover of the culture rather than a culture-vulture, and fair play to the kid. Very talented musician too.

Signs were there all along though, remember first hearing of him because he was being sued by Lord Finesse for using the Hip 2 The Game beat and he’d apparently still tried to use the legal proceedings to hook up a collab

Yeah I think it’s easy to accuse people from the outside of cultural appropriation or whatever, when really the only views that matter are of the people who belong to that culture. If they accept you and think it’s all in good faith then no one else should make a fuss imho

Not belittling Eminem at all. Just pointing out that your depiction of him as the great white hero battling alone through oppression to ‘break’ and ‘dominate’ a ‘predominantly black genre’ and managing to this achieve global success all on his own, is fucking ludicrous

Not sure he counts as a rapper but heard a post malone song for the first time recently and christ alive he’s dreadful. Shifts ridiculous amounts of records (streams) too.

Post is a good counterbalance to talking about Mac because he’s literally a culture vulture in the same lane as Miley Cyrus

He’s on the wind up, I’m pretty certain.

Remember reading similar stuff about iggy azalea when she was briefly a thing

Not at the moment…

If eminem finishes ahead of Wu Tang I’m going to be upset.

That’s 100% not going to happen
