Love the Ryan Adams cover of ‘Dreams’ / the
Thunder Only Happens ’ one

hard one to score i think. hated them for decades then i hit the age of like ~32 and they were all of the sudden good to me. its all pretty safe but kinda perfectly so. arrangements are just sweet enough, melodies undeniable, great voices, quality drama. not a band i care to spend too much time talking about.

i kinda hope they score low cos they get too much attention as it is. 1/5 to make sure i do my part {queues up ‘thats enough for me’}

Agree with all these points about Fleetwood Mac but what do you think of the Beastie Boys?

A band I’ve a lot of time for and will probably post my mark tomorrow but just sayin’ love or hate FM solo Stevie Nicks released three of the biggest pop bangers of all time:

Their cultural renaissance in the last couple of years is deeply weird, isn’t it? Feel like I blinked then and all of my peers were banging on about them and nobody ever let me in on the joke

2/5

I think Rumours, Tusk and Tango In The Night are absolute perfection.
I also have absolutely no interest in hearing any other Fleetwood Mac album. It’s not even that I fear it’ll spoil the three I love, it’s just for some bizarre reason I simply do not care to. Is that odd?

Struggling to decide between 4 or 5.

Some bloody weird stuff I’d forgotten about.
7/10, would Tusk again.

Easy 5. Will admit I would have written them off in my early 20s as kind of comfort food music… Not punk enough yahhh.

Appreciate them alot more now. Great musicians and songwriters, and hugely influential. I got strong Fleetwood vibes from Tame Impalas new one.

I went with 3. The stuff of their’s I love, I really really love. They made some amazing songs and they’re hard wired into my childhood, particularly Rumours and Tango in the Night. Tusk was a later love and ‘Sara’ is still an all-time favourite of mine.

But they have made an awful lot of shit too, so if I’m trying to be fair and balanced, that drags the score down. 3.5 rounding down to 3.

I grew up listening to them as my mum was a fan🤷🏻‍♀️

The Best Stevie Nicks song is ‘Stand Back’ which was inspired by The Prince song ‘Little Red Corvette’ Prince plays synth on the song.

Fleetwood Mac have an incredible back catalogue. The first album I bought on cassette was Tango in the night.
For Rumours and Tango in the night alone it has to be a 4.

I’ve told of this on here before but, in my old student house, we found a copy of the Best of Fleetwood Mac on cassette tape. From then on, we started listening to it every time we did a clean-up of the house. By the end of the year, that tape was totally gnarled and messed up.

In summary, Fleetwood Mac are - to my specific subjective experience - a great lo-fi noise pop band.
