Marauder gets my vote
Success is great. I noticed it made its way back into their live sets for a little while a couple of years ago but didnāt seem to last long, Lights is the only one Iāve ever seen them play from it.
I like that theyāve been gradually playing a few more Our Love to Admire tracks again in recent years instead of mostly just the first two albums stuff, a couple more tracks from El Pintor seem to be getting a look in recently too

New album confirmed for 28/8.
Just listening to See Out Loud now. Paulās voice sounds a bit deeper than it has done since the first 3 or 4 albums. Iām enjoying it.

See Out Loud - definitely has the bite and urgency that the last album sorely missed but not sure thereās an actual tune there on first listen - reminds me of El Pintor stuff. Vocal production doesnāt sound great.
This Mirror Weighs A Ton - Interpol go trip-hopā¦.takes all the slower stuff that failed on the S/T and TOSOMB and crisps up the production with electronic flourishes to make it ethereal rather than plodding.
Fairly intrigued nowā¦..
Really enjoyed this one and nice to hear them trying something a bit different
The other one is fine, sounds like it could be on any of the last few albums really but not that memorable

Mirror Weighs a Ton almost sounds a bit Slowdive- good to have a more atmospheric sound. Not keen on the other one but it has the novelty of some Daniel Kessler lead vocals for a verse.

See Out Loud is very reminiscent of Marauder. Loud, brash and a bit lacking in any coherent melody. On first impressions, itās okay. Hopefully a grower. I do like hearing Daniel sing for a bit though even if he hasnāt got much of a voice.
The title track is much more promising. I like hearing them do something new and experimental (by their standards anyway), and for the most part it works. Good stuff.
Fingers crossed for the new album. Still got lots of love for my NYC boys, even if the previous album was easily their worst.

Oh interesting, looks like itās their longest album yet. Thatās quite refreshing for the current climate, where vinyl is so popular that most bands deliberately keep the running time under 45 minutes so they can fit everything onto one LP.
I think the two songs they released are way too long. One of them has a ridiculously long fade-out. Iām guessing it will be the last song on the album.
The track listing and album length is known already (53 minutes). The two songs released today are the first two tracks on the album.
This does not bode well.
