Is this the name an artist no one’s thought about in years thread?

Once met an extremely drunk lad (lads lads lads) on the bus into Glasgow and he wouldn’t stop banging on about Jamie T.

Dunno enough of his stuff to rate but have heard if you got the money, I think. And I don’t think it was for me.

Ha! No it’s the ‘we’re 260+ artists in and the list is getting shorter so I’m doing ones I want to do regardless’ thread

I was struggling to think of artists I’d give a 1 to but this is one of them. Absolutely can’t stand his stuff.

Don’t think I’ve heard a note of his. One of those acts that was around in the early days of Field Day and suchlike. I might have a listen today.

Could not have put that any better

This could be a bloodbath.

Liked him at the tine of Sheila. Think he had a few good songs but not someone id really go back to.

I liked this from a few years ago

Debut was great scrappy fun, follow-up is a genuinely well put together album with some great hooks and the third was a well-realised ‘mature’ heartbreak album - which appeared a few years after everyone realised he’d kind of vanished from the scene. I thought this from it was wonderful:

His fourth album sounded like low-stakes off cuts from that that album but I’ve always thought he was a really underrated songwriter.

When I was a knockabout teenage boy I was a big fan and saw him quite a lot. Always seemed like a decent kid making the best of some bad personal stuff. Not sure why he provokes such hostility in some but I reckon he’s due a new one and wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was great.

Wonder if he often says ‘milk and two sugars please!’ to himself when he hears his name read out on the radio and such. Which probably doesn’t happen as much these days.

Yeah - weird choice to leave that off the third album. But I guess maybe it hits that record’s themes too firmly on the nose. I love it.

Really didn’t like him even at the time, which is quite something given some of the owd shite I did like around then. 1

From the top - does anyone have the full version of this live tape he released, I have been looking for years

I mind hearing Sheila on Zayn Lowe’s radio 1 show and being blown away by the storytelling and all those weird samples he used.

The first two albums have some of my favourite music of all time, despite the faked accent and the occasional overly commercial song he’d put on. He’s an artist where my critical facilities get bypassed completely.

Here’s a rip roaring version of calm down dearest

Dry off your cheeks is a great song as well

I can’t express how much time I would have spent listening to this song and thinking about roughly three girls from the ages of 13-17

Might go a 4 though it really is a 3

The landfill indie king. Utterly forgettable. Guaranteed to get you off the dance floor at an indie night. The biggest of 1s you could get.

Did that version and turn slower one when I saw him. Fucking brilliant.
