Great talent but rarely feel the urge to listen to him. Not sure if the slightly less ubiquitous songs are the best or if it just helps that I’ve not been horrifically overexposed to them. A generous 3 for me.
Fully expect some 1s from various corners and I’m OK with it.
4 from me, might revise to a 5 after I listen to some on the way to work. Went through a massive Hendrix phase when I was about 15/16. Don’t listen to him much anymore but still, an astoundingly good musician and some truly brilliant music. Does descend into overlong psychedelic wankery a bit sometimes but hey, it was the 60s. Voted Crosstown Traffic as best song, but tempted to change it to ‘Other’ for ‘Izabella’. Also, Live At The Fillmore East is the second best live album of all time.
Listened to him a bit. Found it grating. I guess I understand his influence and importance in counter culture terms, but truthfully he is one of the artists I am least likely to ever listen to
