Just one of those artists whose voice/style grates I’m afraid. I’ve tried enough times now to know I’m unlikely to feel differently by ploughing through multiple albums.
I’ve decided I’m not going to vote for artists in these sort of cases though.

In one of my seminars when I was doing my MA we had to give a presentation on something that related to “American depictions of love”.

One person did a presentation on Joni Mitchell and then performed a cover of one of her songs on a ukulele at the end.

I really like what I’ve heard and I think it’s quite easy to see why people wouldn’t. It’s very straight up conventional beautiful singing, could come across as a bit saccharine and lacking in bite for some people perhaps? Absolutely would have to be in the right mood to listen to Joni Mitchell
