:grinning: Coltrane is on the list but the BG are sadly not. Tbh the next one is also a very good one so I wanted to break it up a bit.

Is Alice Coltrane on the list as well as John?

Looking forwards to all the jazz heads coming out for a Coltrane thread. Will be interesting to see if he scores higher than Miles, for sure.

Yes indeed.

In a model which denies the existence of the Midlands.

I think ‘the South’ ends at Watford Gap, but that doesn’t mean that ‘the North’ starts there. Your argument would make Peterborough and Norwich great Northern cities and I’m not having that.

All these places are basically in Scotchland folks, The North starts at Exeter.

In Northamptonshire we don’t even have The Midlands

What do you have in Northamptonshire?

Yep exactly, people forget Norwich is actually ever so slightly further north than Birmingham

Well, they definitely aren’t as good as they think they are. I’d say they probably aren’t as bad as most people on here think they are either.

I mean they are nowhere near Stereophonics levels of badness. At least they try to tinker with their sound a little bit. I quite enjoyed the first album, although it’s not something I was keen to admit to. Wasn’t that fussed by Empire, but at least it wasn’t just a carbon copy. After that, gave subsequent albums a brief listen but not much more than that. I think I largely got the impression that each one was OK - neither offensively bad nor particularly great.

I can’t say I’d ever choose to listen to them, but I wouldn’t turn them off if they were played on the radio.

Not particularly keen on the laddish culture, nor where it seemed to end up in this case. So not a band I feel any degree of warmth towards that would transcend the music.

So, I dunno… a two and a bit. It would be a struggle to stretch that bit into a 3. And after googling the elephant in the room, it doesn’t feel like they are deserving of any generosity, sadly.

Everything about this song is pretty decent, apart from the vocals, which are flat and lack passion.

An absolute steaming turd of a band. 1/5 no redeeming features.

Went to see them at Reading Festival in 2004. Walked out at 3 songs. Total shit. Stereophonics are 100 times better and we all know how shit they are
