Saw them at the royal albert hall a few years back on my own. Was in a box with a couple of elderly bikers chatting about the grateful dead and a couple of businessmen in fancy suits. Guess i was somewhere in the middle. All wearing 3d glasses, all having a great time.

Kraftwerk were amazing, of course.

5/5! Managed to get my vote in earlier, and delighted to see them score so highly! Really need to see them live

Was I the only person to give them 1?

I gave them a 2 tbh, mainly for their influence. Don’t really like posting about bands I don’t care for, but kudos to them. Being a big drone and ambient fan I appreciate repetitive tones and texture, but Kraftwerk has never done anything for me. I’ve tried and tried believe me.

Listened to The Mix whilst making dinner earlier. This was the second Kraftwerk album I got after Autobahn, so even though I know the original album versions are the “real thing”, some of these remixes (The Robots and Radioactivity in particular) are what come to mind when I imagine that song.

Big shout out for Tour de France Soundtracks too, which although not particularly groundbreaking, is just an incredible, flowing album of melodic, minimalist techno. Great for ahem cycling (indoors) to

What fresh new dice-rolling voodoo is this? Is discobot controlling the numbers of posts now, or just developing a strange sense of humour.

For anyone teetering - the live record Minimum - Maximum is absolutely mind blowing. It takes all those versions from The Mix up to the next level.

Considering it came out in 81, Computer World is just staggering. Numbers, in particular, is astonishing - could easily be a track on Drexciya’s Bubble Metropolis EP, a groundbreaking record that came out 12 years later.

Their combination of futurism, funk and love for the Beach Boys is ridiculously intoxicating.

Solid 5.

Been off DiS for a couple of days and totally missed this - gutted :frowning:

Would have been a 5 from me though. Some really lovely posts in this thread. Think I’m gonna go spending the day zoning out to Trans Europe Express.

Saw the 3D live show at T in the Park of all places and it was one of the most memorable shows I’ve ever been to. Loved it.

Too late felson!

These late 5’s would have bumped 'em up a bit, ah well.

Only got one vote! Such a good track. Think that was probably the first track of theirs I heard as it wasn’t unusual to hear it mixed into Planet Rock on mixtapes. Guaranteed goosebumps every time I watch this video.

Reopen the poll Newsom style for the late fives?

  • YEAH
  • Leave it, mate. It’s done.

Not going to make any difference tbh.
