Gonna give them a 3 because I know Jordan Plant and his dad has always been nice to me. Music is wank though

I watched the film ‘The Song Remains the Same’
At the midnight movies when I was a kid
At a Canton, Ohio mall with friends
One warm summer weekend

Jimmy Page stood tall on screen
I was mesmerized by everything
The Peter Grant and John Paul Jones dream sequence scenes
The close-up of the mahogany Double SG

And though I loved the sound of the roaring Les Paul
What spoke to me most was ‘Rain Song’ and ‘Bron-Yr-Aur’
And I loved the thunder of Jon Bonham’s drums
But even more I like ‘No Quarter’s Fender Rhodes’ hum

A hold steady HGATR could be a decent thread - 1/5

Couple of great albums, lots of dross.
Problematic as fuck but only as much as anyone else on this list
Sing about fairies and demons and that, quite a bit heavier than most of the dadrock stuff

Gonna go for a four

Yeah, never quite got why they get lumped in with loads of really middling classic dad rock or mojo mag as someone said upthread

Well a lot of them will have heard whole Lotta love or immigrant song on a top gear compilation cd but wouldn’t know a yardbirds tune if Jeff beck slapped them on the dick, so they get lumped in lists by people who hate music to pretend they don’t

Because all the middling dads love 'em.

My dad and all his dad mates do love them

Dont know if I know of any mums who like them?
My mum likes the stones but not led zeppelin, I think most of her mum mates like Rod Stewart and motown.

In my opinion it is good and fun when Dads like things.

My mums a big Zep fan. Saw them at a couple smallish venues back in the day.

My dad took my mum to see Led Zeppelin in Rotterdam when they were dating. I asked my mum how it was and she said “It was a bit too loud, I liked Stairway though”

Looking it up, this was one of their last ever gigs:

Proper crap. 1/5

The problem is more what they tend to enjoy and like

They’re enjoying themselves, that’s the main thing.

My Dad enjoys to listen to Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty for example. He enjoys listening to it and I enjoy the fact that he enjoys listening to it.

Fucking hated Zeppelin when I was growing up. Then I was living with some lad who insisted on sticking on that 3 DVD live thing they brought out and it did inspire a genuine “holy fucking shit” moment in me. What a band.

Since then I’ve had precisely zero instances in my life where I’ve thought about getting the Led out. Simply never bothered.

Inconclusive/5

Yeah mine liked that one too. They’re a solid four for that sax bit alone.

Robert Plant inexplicably covering Low

and being an embarrassing dad in the intro

Actually upped them to a 2 for Robert Plant seeming quite a GBoL.
