Don’t know if this is true but read once they recorded each note in a distorted chord separately to avoid intermodulation (that makes distorted complex chords sound nasty), thought that was interesting

God damn it I think Madonna has to be another 5. Huge influence on me growing up and I still just put on Immaculate Conception for some pure blissed-out joy.

I was about 9 when Erotic came out, my cousin (20 years older) was well excited about getting the book. I remember dreaming that she became prime minister and wearing clothes was made illegal LOL

Lots of people going in two-footed on her post-Ray of Light stuff, but there’s plenty of good singles there – Music, Don’t Tell Me (big tune), Beautiful Stranger, What It Feels Like For a Girl, Hung Up.

Will give her a 4 – don’t really know any of her albums but when the singles are good they’re very, very good. It’s not something I listen to loads, but I was going to put on a big female pop star it would probably be her.

Yeah MBV was intense, the end was just pure, very loud noise that rattles your chest, they were giving out earplugs beforehand and I’d taken my own, but was funny watching a bunch of hardmen who’d shrugged them off bending over with the hands over their ears by the finale.
