I’m imagining it as a really dark CBeebies show about a life guard who’s probably a dog for some reason and has some dark secrets.

think this is true for me as well, but there’s so many bangers I can’t not give them a fiveboy

3/5 for me. I have brief dalliances with “metal” and Metallica were probably the first band (along with GnR) of that ilk to catch my attention. That run up to, and including, the black album is as solid as solid can be. On the rare occasions that I have a “metal day”, I will generally reach for “Master Of Puppets”.

I’ve never listened to anything post the black album and I am willing to concede that they’re “a bit silly”. When they’re good, they’re really good, but I have no idea what bad Metallica sounds like.

Could have taken metal down a different path but they doomed the genre to being right wing.

Some of the riffs on their earlier stuff are ok but Kirk Hammett is a crap guitarist with no feel or pacing to his solos.

Probably going to give them a 1 for saying they are glad their music is played during torture of Iraqis

Any band with their genre in their name just come across as incredibly corny.
Quite amazing they were ever taken seriously.

Had a group of Easy Melter mates at school so have had to endure far more 80s metal than I’d like. Metallica were they only thing they ever listened to which I could say I actively enjoyed.

All downhill from the Black album but for Master of Puppets alone they get a 3.

Don’t be silly Bam.

The song one genuinely disturbed me as a kid so I’d rather they didn’t exist

As it was my introduction to them, and as it came out just as i was getting into music, i unashamedly and unreservedly love the black album.

Learning to play metallica songs on the guitar was/is great fun.

Everything after black is terrible, but thats negated by some kind of monster.

FUCK

Pantera guy did that white power shout and salute and then tried to pass it off as wine power

Really sad that one of my favourite bands are going to get such a low score :sob:

Can everyone who’s voted less than a 4 listen to this beautiful song and revise their scores accordingly (I.e. up to at least a 4). Thank you in advance

I believe we shouldn’t platform angry white people music, don’t think that’s a right wing view though maybe it is

One of my go-to songs when i pick up a guitar…
