Was just wondering how you dealt with stress so well

I did think about that before you replied. Will sort out at the weekend.

Yeah. Sounds silly but I found some old ACG Mowabbs that must have been from 1994-5 and the soles were really crumbly.

Lord Scotch is worth a follow on Instagram. Not sure if anyoneā€™s read any of Jonathan Lethemā€™s books, but itā€™s his brother. Lots of Fortress of Solitude is based on him.

Motherless Brooklyn is great, and really want to get to Fortress and the one with gun in the title

Looks like his family is suing Egon over the notebook thing. Good for them. Assuming the accusations are true, I canā€™t believe how unabashedly greedy and selfish this is. Maybe I shouldnā€™t be surprised.

Stones Throw was a huge part of getting into music for me as a teen, and those wouldā€™ve been the prime years when this guy was heavily involved. Now it seems like most of the artists have distanced themselves from him. The guy literally has a label called Madlib Invasion that currently has no ties to the actual Madlib. Seems like a real dirt bag (I guess my point here is I always had the image of ST as an artist-friendly, music-first type label even as they shifted towards like, quirky bedroom pop or whatever, and itā€™s been weird to see that illusion broken somewhat)

In fairness I think heā€™s been gone from ST for a good while now. But, yeah, it does sound like heā€™s been ripping people off left, right and centre. Not good

Havenā€™t Stones Throw and Peanut Butter Wolf long distanced themselves from Egon? Idk where exactly the beef lies, but I remember there being stuff about Stones Throw having permission from DOOMā€™s family to put out whatever there was of Madvillain 2, so idk if the beef is with ST/PBW.

Didnā€™t Talib Kweli have beef with Egon as well?

Sorry folks, I didnā€™t articulate that clearly. Didnā€™t mean to imply ST itself was any way involved with this. From interviews Iā€™ve read and watched it seems like PBW was alright. I know Egon was not involved after a certain point but he was still a major player in what was arguably the labelā€™s heyday. IIRC, Madlib also left with him to do Madlib Invasion.

Will the DoomStarks album [his collaboration with the late MF Doom] ever see the light of day? AndyJohnson
Doomā€™s family got the music. I donā€™t know what theyā€™re gonna do with it. What was Doom like to work with? He thought different. But he was really intelligent. He knew what he wanted. And he was a funny person, a good conversationalist, a beautiful soul.

Will it ever come out? Who the fuck knows?

Ghost said in his autobiography that it was done too. Had said before it needed him to redo vocals etc, but he said that was done and it was ready to go.

Do think weā€™ll eventually get Madvillain 2 in one form or the other. The DOOMSTARKS album I just have PTSD from and Iā€™m still not convinced it actually exists.

Definitely respect his family taking their time with shit, not rushing it, even not releasing stuff at all if itā€™s no good. Meanwhile his stock just keeps rising so thereā€™s no need for cash ins.

Yeah, defeinetly agree. Hype for thes ethings will be unreal, and I have to grudgingly admit (imo) that his stuff was on a bit of a decline. Still very enjoyable but not hitting like he used to. Not surprising either, really, given all the family and immigration grief he had going on
