🎵 How Good Are They Really 🎵 Misfits

I can only imagine what their early shows would have been like. Whilst brutal their execution is always a real air of expression, their sound is something people latched onto, because it felt real.

They were so influential in a word of mouth way that most people never even heard of them until they’d gone, which translates to their mythical status today, which they deserve.

Blew my mind a bit when I found out Britta Philips was the voice of Jem!

Saw this thread and visited hoping this would appear :rofl:

Thankyou! Right cheered up my Monday this has.

Yeah I couldn’t resist, even though only you, me, midnightpunk and IvorDewdney would get it.

Worth it anyway :grinning::+1:

Loved them. Rarely listen now. But so many amazing tunes. 5/5.

Absolutely worth it! :raised_hands: :slightly_smiling_face:

Jesus this thread is fucking embarrassing, starting with the non-Danzig photo in the OP.

Danzig-era Misfits are fucking legendary. Anything after that I’ve never paid attention to. The fact that there are two versions of this band, separated not only by different vocalists but also a lot of time, makes it a bit difficult to judge the band as a whole, and yeah the 2nd version has certainly tarnished the band’s image and legacy (as have some of the members’ personalities/politics/etc.).

Thanks @ midnightpunk for putting their importance into words better than I could. Not much else I can say.

I can’t fathom giving Danzig-era Misfits anything less than 5/5

‘Fucking embarrassing’. Count how many times you hear that said. Truth is simply ‘some people have a different opinion to me’.

In many ways, judging Misfits by the Danzig era, is like judging Pink Floyd by the Syd Barrett era.
