5 up to moon and Antarctica. 2 since. Round it to a generous 4.
Lonesome crowded west is so, so good. Going to have a listen today. Teeth like Godās shoeshine might be my favourite ever album opener
Theyāve always left me completely cold despite being the sort of thing that I would normally like. Doubtless I need to give them more of a try but Iāve never really felt the impetus to do so. I know lots of people on here love them but I donāt see it for some reason. Theyāre obviously not ābadā though. 2.5 rounded down to 2 as plenty of others will make up the slack.
Adding my voice to the āshould like them but donāt reallyā pile. I bought Good Newsā¦ when it came out cause Float On is great and I enjoyed it but I havenāt listened to it in years and everything else I tried of theirs before and after has left me cold. 2 maybe.
Huge, huge 5. This is a Long Drive, Lonesome Crowded West and The Moon and Antarctica is an incredible opening trio, the Lonesome Crowded West is one of the great epic albums.
Think their ādeclineā is hugely exaggerated too, Good News and We Were Dead are both really good and even the last one had lots of good stuff. Loads of good stuff on the early EPs too.
Absolutely loved them when I was at uni and saw them live a fair few times (why did I used to see the same band multiple times on the same tour? What a waste of money) but never go back to listen to them now. Used to be brilliant lyrically though. 3
This used to be the last song I played before I was about to go on a night out
Gone for a 4. Lonesome and Moon & Antarctica are great. Probably being a bit more generous as the TV and mineās first dance at our wedding was float on.
Nailed on 4. Lonesome Crowded West and Moon and Antarctica are flat-out masterpieces, Good News and We Were Dead are less good but still have their charms. Float On is probably their worst song.
Easy 5 for me. I was about 16 and Iāll never forget the first time I heard Dramamine and to this day it still gives me chills. They are one of those comfort bands for me
thanks for doing this on a Friday, got the dayās soundrack sorted
A lot of snobbery about that and Good News, people making out that because theyād written some songs with hooks in theyād gone to shit. Both great albums.
