Went to this tour in Plymouth. HR were fucking great, obviously.

Probably a 2 on balance. I quite liked Showbiz when it came out but I’ve never gotten over how seriously they took themselves even then. Saw them open for Skunk Anansie in about 1999 and Matt Bellamy did a lot of rock star posturing, smashing his guitar at the end of the set etc. There was about 10 people watching them. Get over yourself m8. Baffled by how big they are now given their…music.

Must admit I enjoyed watching their OOS in full set at Reading 10-odd years ago as a weeun, but even then we left when they started doing their rock opera stuff.

They’re like our generation’s Queen but worse. Feel like they take themselves quite seriously, their first few albums are largely inoffensive and best suited to guitar hero and video game montages. Haven’t tried the later stuff beyond radio play but the amazing album art says it all

Also saw them open for Feeder, Coldplay were the main support. What a boring night (jk Feeder absolutely SLAPPED).

Can’t imagine ever listening to them now and I have a feeling I’d find even the stuff I used to like a bit unbearable now. But I absolutely loved them as a teenager and have fond memories of everything up to Black Holes. Were very good live around that time too.

3 for the memories.

Bliss is an absolute choon

Never bought, downloaded or streamed any of their music. The only times I have heard muse has been on the radio and the odd tv appearance. They have always seemed to me to be one of those bands like (sorry for offence here) U2 or the Foo Fighters. Like a band for people who think they are cool when they are not or like that person that you know who only listens to two or three bands and does not expand their musical taste beyond that. I bet say Richard Hammond listens to Muse. Sort of a Dad rock vibe. They have some catchy melodies tucked away inside their songs but appear to be ruined by over the top lyrics and over the top production. I’ll say 2 but feel that may be being generous.

Not gonna vote as I’ve never heard an album, but I reckon they’re not as bad as their rep. Fun silly concept rock for stadiums innit? Someone prove me right/wrong

Liked showbiz, started to think something was going a bit wrong with the second album and didnt like it as much, dont think I ever listened to the third. Increasingly hilarious ever since.

I wouldn’t ever listen to them on purpose but they aren’t the worst thing ever. 3 for me. Have some decent teenage memories from when Plug In Baby was on the radio every day

  1. For putting Teignmouth on the map. And for giving my bass player a lift from Drumbridges to Newton while he was tripping on mushrooms.

First couple albums were…fine. One or two decent tunes thereafter. Really shit the bed since then.

Quite liked them for a bit. Got bored after Black Holes not listened to them for years.

Matt Bellamy seems like a dick and is in that god awful cover band with Miles Kane.

Just exhausting to listen to, so tedious. Plug in Baby is a tune, if they’d made more sub 3 minute pop bangers I’d think of them a lot more fondly

3 for the first 3 albums. They don’t exist after that really.

Scoring a 2/5

Still to this day, even with some of the most embarrassing songs ever written, they’re one of the most fun bands live. I’m giving them a 5 and you’re all a bunch a whiny bores.

Gave em a 2 for the handful of tunes that are undoubted bangers.

Otherwise total garbage.
