Got Ragged Glory on, it’s good!

Listened to it twice yesterday. Beautiful, heartbreaking and idiosyncratic. Ben Keith’s playing on that is gorgeous. Tim Drummond scraping his beard with a credit card on ‘Vampire Blues’ is one tiny touch among hundreds that make the album.

Birds is gorgeous. One of those songs where you sort of wish it were longer, but then realise that part of what makes it so perfect and fragile is how short it is.

I feel this way about Box of Stars, Part One by Sparklehorse too.

What an album. Not a duffer on it.

I don’t like see the sky about to rain, find it a bit boring and meandering tbh, it’s the only blemish though

might just be the sequencing though, seems odd to have such a languid track at 2 straight after walk on

Making me rethink my ‘no song should be longer than 3:30’ rule

Mate, live versions of Rocking in the Free World want a word

OTB by York I believe, reworking On The Beach by Chris Rea.

I love it. The pedal steel on it is gorgeous. There’s a clunker or two in the lyrics but I think it’s great.

Wish he’d had Rick Danko and Levon Helm playing on more of his songs / had just done stuff with The Band more.

yeah I’m a sucker for pedal steel usually, don’t know why but I find that track faintly cheesy. Still easily one of my favourite albums of all time

I really like this weird 70s Byrds version of it, but I’m just a sucker for Gene Clark…
