What Weeber said. My favourite singer of all time. The way he expresses every kind of emotion through his voice is astonishing. An incredible back catalogue to considering he passed away at 26. 5 all the way from me.

Absolutely love him. Probably not the strongest voice in terms of range but the character and warmth he brought is unparalleled. A massive lost to the world at only 26 years old.
Could have had ‘My lovers prayer’ or ‘I’ve been loving you etc’ as a favourite song but ‘Shake’ never fails to put a smile on my chops.

Not sure it’ll be a huge vote in terms of numbers so you could be right.

I love his voice and had some amazing singles - obviously a career cut tragically short, would have been interesting to see what he went on to do with the album format in the 70s

If you’ve not heard this mini-masterpiece for a while, why not give yourself a little treat while you’re waiting for the tea to brew?

I refuse to believe so many Dissers are diehard Otis Redding fans.

Nobody said they were, people just like stuff a lot sometimes.

Good singer good voice. Got a bunch of good songs. Never a huge huge fan. probably too bluesy or something for me. Has also covered some of my favourite songs.

Close call for me between Otis and Marvin Gaye. Both would get a 5, Marvin still just about edges it based on his body of work

Just baffles me a bit. I know a couple of the songs you’ve listed up there, mainly because they’re on adverts or soundtracks. I didn’t realise there’s still a good proportion of people of my generation or thereabouts who actively listen to Otis Redding on the regular. Yesterday I was looking for something to listen to and ended up with Alien Ant Farm. But maybe I’m the weird one.

You bunch of Rolling Stone ass losers and liars

To be fair to you, we are talking about a guy who died when I was 6 weeks old.

That’s a looong time ago
