KoL is their best album because instead of trying to make some big hype statement or at least instead of critics putting that on them they just made a good album with a consistent tone that actually sounds good to listen to instead of some of the stiff and brittle production of their earlier records.

ok 2 of the 7 songs or whatever aren’t great and shouldn’t really be there but other than that

stop implying i am posh man, i saw 3 people get shot while growing up, and 2 lads i was friends with as a kid are now doing time for armed robbery and attempted murder! knock it off!

I’d argue that there’s an extent to which you could say the same thing about ‘authenticity’ tho

yeah I’ve been struggling with a thought that all music is pretty cringey “look at me I’m special!”. Kind of annoying to realise you’ve devoted a big chunk of your life to such narcissism

 i love this
gonna post it every time someone who hasn’t watched got says its shit. (its shit now but thats not the point)

this is a VERY good joke

so why do you want to get behind this kind of stuff?

It’s true though
Just a pity MK is making a profit though
:grinning:

Disagree strongly on this. Appreciating music (or more generally, any art) is one of the things which makes us human. Being able to create and share music people enjoy is magical and something to be cherished

I love them completely and utterly and each of their albums from ok computer have soundtracked very distinct moments in my life. They’re sort of woven into my existence at this point so I can’t be objective and don’t really care. Almost always a 10/10 live (fucking roundhouse shows, bloody hell), huge gateway band, their hearts seem mostly in the right place, Colin is obviously a top lad, Jonny is a musical hero of mine and the way they played a part in pissing on the jingo-ism of britpop was necessary.

I’m happier now everybody thinks he is shit, hopefully he isn’t making much money anymore

the only Radiohead tunes I really go out my way to listen to are Just and High and Dry. i guess I’m more radio X than radio head

would any radiohead fans be kind enough to refer me to the best 2-3 tracks to listen to from each of these albums? lazy of me I know but i find it a useful way of getting into albums/artists:

moon shaped pool
king of limbs
hail to the thief
amnesiac
kid A
…(pablo honey?)

That’s absolutely true. Lots of people in bands (and other arts) were signing on and getting housing benefit when I was growing up in the 80s. In effect it was a state-funded arts subsidy and gave opportunity to many working class bands (and actors, writers, artists).

It’s just not possible to do this anymore hence the rise of artists from wealthy backgrounds.

I love Mark Fisher BTW.

Tours and reissues will keep him right.
Back on topic: maybe he’ll do a Radiohead covers album.
