Two more personal robservations. One thing I sometimes enjoy doing is singing the words to Dancing On My Own in a Nick Cave voice to the melody of Into My Arms. It fits quite well or at least does in my head.
Also, when I listen to Be Mine, sometimes the line ‘You Never Were and You Never Will Be Mine’ comes across as a rueful lamentation because Robyn wishes the subject was hers, other times an angry assertation to somebody who wants Robyn to be theirs. Changes the feel of the song depending which meaning I hear. Top song writing that.
